What about fur handling?

You wake up at five o'clock, go outside and start your truck up so all the ice will melt off the windshield. Twenty minutes later your on the road with a growing anticipation of what you could have on your fur line. Whether you have out ten traps or a hundred, on many days you will have a catch of some kind. What you do with that catch is a decision every trapper has to make at some point. For the most part you have three choices. You can sell your catch in the round (not skinned), green (skinned) or finished (fleshed-stretched-dried). Many trappers that are first starting out will sell their catch green. There is nothing wrong with selling your fur that way. But at some point, if you are interested in increasing your profit, you will want to finish your fur. When I started selling my fur stretched as opposed to green, I more than doubled my fur check. If you should decide to start putting up your fur how will you go about it? Are you going to give your fur a quality finish, or are you going to do the job half way? Why put all that work into your fur just to do the job half right and have the price of your fur docked or greatly reduced. When putting up your fur don't just stop at what many people say is "good enough." Go the extra mile to finish your fur, and in the end your buyer as well as the graders at the auctions will notice it. The results will be more than a noticeable increase in your fur prices. Will it be hard work? Absolutely, but no one said making money would be easy. When it's all said and done you will get out of your fur what you put into it.

Kitty Catcher Lure Results

My name is Caleb Matthews and I am 17 years old. Last fall I had the opportunity to be taught the trade of lure making. Since my main target is bobcats I wanted to develop a lure for them. Over the course of the 2012-2013 season I trapped a month and a half running primarily a dozen sets. The results were way more than satisfactory and there are a few things the lure did that no one would ever believe. Kitty Catcher lure is waterproof and freezeproof.  It is meant to be used deep down a hole or on a rub post.

Kitty Catcher will be back on the market by October the 1st. In a Limited Supply.

2 ounce bottles 8 dollars each.

Here are the results...
